Healing Massage by Amy

An Experience in Renewal

An Invitation

Life requires us to dig deep. But we live in a benevolent world, one that offers respite when a friend smiles, a bird calls, or the sun sets in an array of color. I invite you to join me for another source of renewal: healing massage. The massage I offer is meant to soothe, relax, and renew. My successful experience with clients, and my training, including with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, allows me to work confidently with people who are battling cancer or recovering from surgery, in need of emotional balance, dealing with rotator cuff issues, or managing an immune response disorder, people seeking comfort and relaxation, people taking time for their own wellness.

Click through to learn more about me, my training and personal interests, or about the benefits of massage. Or check our Self-Care section for ideas and inspiration. It includes the most recent edition of Body Sense Magazine, which is for massage and bodywork clients like you.

I look forward to your joining me in my home studio. Meanwhile, thank you for visiting me here. I hope that you find some good information and inspiration.

Testimonials

A Safe Return to Massage

Healing Massage By Amy reopened to vaccinated clients in late May 2021, and has been safely open since. My family and I are fully vaccinated and boosted. If I do not wear a mask for your visit, I am happy to do so upon request. Clients need not wear a mask but of course may if they wish to do so. As always, all sheets and towels are washed between every client, and handles, etc. are sanitized.

Resources

The following people are providing different kinds of support for body and soul.

Jenny Wilson, a respected psychotherapist, consultant, and trainer, is "deeply committed to the belief that all of us have what we need within us to heal." A specialist in EMDR and Somatic therapy, Wilson provides resilience-based psychotherapy sessions via tele-health, including a new 30 minute session option.

Meaghan Harvey is a yoga instructor and knowledgeable Young Living essential oils representative who offers educational and entertaining classes and events.

Maria offers occupational and craniosacral therapy to birthing parents during pregnancy and postpartum, and to young children (starting from birth) to support the nervous system, heal the body and nurture natural development.

Marjorie Huebner offers Rosen Method Movement classes. Marjorie explains, "Rosen Method Movement ... uses music to entice our bodies into motion.  These unhurried movements, taken from physical therapy range of motion exercises, are designed to keep joints healthy, invite body awareness, improve alignment, and expand the breath!"

Self-Care

The eight silken movements, or brocades, of Qigong help make one feel powerful, grounded, and serene. Qigong master Mimi Kuo-Deemer does an excellent job of teaching them here.

With so much going on in our world, Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals is offering helpful self-care videos, such as the following. At top is the first in the series Meditate and Move, and includes self massage.

Maybe be grateful you’re not getting Captain Hook’s massage!
